I remember there was a point in my career where I was putting out all of this work, investing time, attending meetings, and closing deals, and after all of that, my income would barely be anything. I couldn’t understand why everything wasn’t connecting. My expenses were very high, while my income was very low. I was showing up daily for my business—doing the things I was taught to do—and nothing seemed to be working. I would meet potential clients who would always purchase my smallest packages, never returning for repeat business.

I just was not connecting with my clients on the level I needed to connect. There were so many things that I was doing . . . so much busy work . . . but nothing was really working. I simply could not figure out what I was doing wrong.

I have always been known as a Selling Strategist. When I was with Mary Kay, I used to sale at least $36,000 in product sales yearly. In two consecutive years, my unit and I sold $350,000 and $500,000. I had no problem with my customers purchasing and joining my organization. After sitting down and comparing both businesses (Mary Kay and coaching), I realized that with Mary Kay, I understood who my ideal clients were. I had not truly identified who they were in my coaching and consulting firm.

See, everyone can use Mary Kay; it is up to them if they want to. The flip side was that with my coaching programs, everyone I marketed to was not my ideal client, but I was treating them like they were. I had not really identified who my ideal clients were and the best way to market my business in order to connect with them.

Thank goodness that is no longer my story, but it was my story for way too long. Don’t get me wrong; I am still growing and developing, but I have come a long way. For too long, I did not understand how to close my sales, diversify my offerings, and connect with my ideal clients. Way too long I was on this island that was sinking, and if I did not turn things around, my island would eventually no longer exist.

I talk to so many entrepreneurs who are in the same place that I used to be in, who share with me the same stories; they are not making enough money to really run their business like they should . . . like they want to. After everything that I have learned in my career, my trials, and my tribulations, I decided to create a video series on my YouTube channel titled “How to Close the Sale.” I have included episode one for you to begin watching. Make sure you take the time to watch and reflect on your business. There is too much money out there for you to leave it on the table. At the end of the day, your business will not run if you are not bringing in cash flow.

In the “How to Close the Sale” series, you will learn how to identify some of the best business practices, best sales people, understanding what your clients need, how to identify your ideal clients, identifying why you are not closing the sale, how fear can hold you back, the difference in how you sale a product versus a service, and so much more.
